The Department of Highways, through the Survey and Design Office, in collaboration with Highway Office No. 7 Khon Kaen and a consulting engineering firm, is undertaking the construction of an elevated interchange at the intersection of Highway No. 2 and Highway No. 230 (Mueang Kao Junction) in Khon Kaen Province. This project aims to address traffic congestion and frequent accidents at this location.

An initial Environmental Impact Assessment (IEE) has been conducted for the project. Construction is expected to begin in 2025 and will take approximately three years to complete. Once finished, the project will enhance transportation efficiency in the northeastern region and improve safety for users.
